Rite of Spring - Mary Beaber Rite of Spring is Thursday, April 24, at Belmont Country Club. Mary Beaber, event chair, is happy to announce Theresa Hoen, owner of Hoen’s Garden Center, is the scheduled speaker. TSL members working on the committee include Kathy Traynor, Beverly Wolcott, Judi Uhrman, Cookie Westmeyer, JoAnn Phipps, Emma Oravecz, Sharon Slusarski, Marcia Helman, Kathy Scheer, Kris Young, Sherie Robarge, Helen Patton, Marlene Uhler, Beth Bowman, and Shelli Jacobs. The Flour Garden is under the leadership of Emma Oravecz. Emma has a few new features planned, including a “Mary Beaber Carrot Cake” raffle! If you would like to donate baked goods, work on packaging goodies, or selling at Rite of Spring, email Emma at [email protected]. Cash would be very much appreciated for purchases the day of the event. The raffle basket table is filling up nicely. Basket themes include a Picnic Basket, a Grandma Fun Basket, and a Facial Spa Basket to name a few. The raffle chair is on the lookout for empty raffle baskets and gift cards. They include “Christmas in July” at Marcia Helman’s home, “Happy Hour in the Old West End” with TSL president JoAnn Phipps, and “National Girlfriend’s Day Tea” with Beth Bowman. Get your bidding consortiums ready! Helen Patton, vendor chair, has been very successful obtaining vendors. Please look at the confirmed vendor list with descriptions below. The ‘Spring Hat Contest” returns to Rite of Spring 2025! Wear your springiest hat to join in some fashionable fun and perhaps win a prize.
